Covid-19 and your visa

If you have a valid visa/re-entry permit

If you already have a valid visa/re-entry permit you must first apply for a certificate of entry (CoE) at https://coethailand.mfa.go.th

To apply for a CoE you must provide the following documents

  1. A copy of your passport
  2. A copy of your valid visa
  3. Airline ticket confirmation
  4. A copy of valid health insurance certificate indicating coverage of:
    1. Out-patient of not less than 40,000 Baht
    1. In-patient of not less than 400,000 Baht
    1. All medical expenditures worth more than or at least 100,000 USD
    1. COVID-19 coverage

  5. Booking confirmation from an Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) / Alternative Local Quarantine (ALQ) / Alternative Hospital Quarantine (AHQ) facility in Bangkok, Chonburi, Smutpakarn and Prachinburi ONLY

Once this is completed please make sure to print out a copy of your CoE. Make sure to keep in mind that it could take up to 3 business days for you to obtain your CoE.

Make sure to have the following documents on hand to present when boarding a flight to Thailand

  1. The Certificate of Entry (CoE)
  2. A copy of COVID-19 free health certificate made within 72 hours before departure
  3. A copy of your Fit to Fly/Fit to travel certificate also within 72 before departure (Fit for Travel Medical Certificate)
  4. A copy of valid health insurance certificate indicating coverage of:
    1. Out-patient of not less than 40,000 Baht
    1. In-patient of not less than 400,000 Baht
    1. All medical expenditures worth more than or at least 100,000 USD
    1. COVID-19 coverage

  5. Tor 8 Form (Download Form)

Keep in mind that if you fail to present these documents upon boarding you will be denied from boarding the plane.

If you do not have a valid visa/re-entry permit

Obtain a Visa or re-entry permit at your local embassy and proceed according to the instructions set out for the specific type of visa you apply for when entering into the country

Covid 19 insurance

Because of the COVID pandemic the Thai government has issued new requirements on health insurance. The insurance policy can be obtained from domestic or foreign insurers but the policy must include:

  • 100,000 USD medical expenditure
  • COVID-19 Coverage
  • Out-patient coverage of no less than 40,000 Baht
  • In-patient coverage of no less than 400,000 Baht
